Membership Types

NACE offers a variety of membership types to help fit your needs and level of experience.

All national memberships include one local chapter membership. Additional chapters may be added for $50/chapter. Memberships are renewable annually based on anniversary date. 











Our most popular membership type. For individuals who are employed in the catering, event, or hospitality industries. 





Employees of businesses who maintain  three or more memberships at the corporate rate of $275 each.





Current members who are at least 60 years old and who have maintained membership for at least 15 consecutive years. Please email to confirm eligibility.





Full-time employees of non-profit 501(c)3, (c)4, (c)5 and (c)6 organizations. Proof of non-profit status is required with application. Note: 501(c)7 NOT eligible





Employees of NACE partner companies.





Student Membership is limited to those individuals enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in a post-secondary educational program who intend to begin a career in the catering and events industry, and who have paid any fees or due required for this membership.  Student Members must provide proof of full-time or part-time enrollment.**

Young Professional




Individuals under 30 years of age who are employed in the catering, event, or hospitality industries. Copy of photo ID required.

* Professional membership is our default membership type. All other types are discounted based on the criteria listed in each description. 

** Student members may serve on committees, but they may not vote, hold office, or serve on the Board of Directors. This membership rate is available for no more than five (5) years in an undergraduate academic program and no more than three (3) in a graduate program, as long as the member provides annual proof of the full-time enrollment qualification.

Membership Department

Effective July 1, the minimum required number of corporate members per company will increase to three per company. Employees of companies with less than three corporate members will not be eligible for the corporate membership discount.


  • All NACE memberships are individual and held specifically in the name of the member.
  • Memberships are inclusive of a national membership and one local chapter membership.
  • Additional local chapter membership is available at $50 each.
  • If no chapter exists near the member, the member will be considered "At-large."
  • Memberships are non-refundable.
Completed online membership applications will be processed within 2-3 business days. Please do not attempt to register for events or obtain other NACE benefits until your membership is approved. 

Replacement Membership:
NACE membership belongs to whomever pays the membership dues. If a membership is paid by a company, the company may choose to transfer the membership from one employee to another. The employee who is replaced is considered to be a transitional member (details below) and the new member will take over the membership, including the paid through date. To request a replacement, please fill out the Membership Replacement Form.

Transitional Membership:
Transitional members will retain membership benefits up to 90 days after a company request to transfer benefits, compliments of NACE. Membership must be renewed within the 90 day grace period in order to maintain membership without having to reapply. To renew your membership, log in and click My Invoices.


Code of Ethics

As a condition precedent to admission to membership of NACE, candidates for membership shall agree in writing to abide by this code of ethics. Failure to maintain compliance herewith shall be cause for expulsion of any member, following due process as provided in the bylaws of the association.


1. Members shall at all times conduct themselves and their professional activities in conformance with the laws of the land.
2. Members shall keep the concerns of their clients foremost in mind in the conduct of their business consistent with the objectives of their employers.
3. Members shall continuously work to improve their knowledge and skills to the benefit of their clients, themselves, NACE and the organization they represent.
4. Members will have sympathetic understanding of the problems of fellow members. This understanding is a unifying and strengthening force.
5. Members shall transact all business on behalf of the association in accordance with the bylaws, policies and procedures manual, laws of the land and this code of ethics.
6. Members shall not engage in activities harmful to the purpose of NACE, or use their position in the association to exploit personal views.
7. Members shall devote themselves to giving of their time and talent to the communities in which they live, work and play, without regard to rewards therefrom.
8. Members shall encourage promising persons to enter the profession of catering and to grow therein to become the best in their chosen profession.
